When the Hurricane Hits
When the Hurricane Hits is the first piece from my collection "There is Calm Within the Storm" A journey about grief.
There are moments in life when grief feels like a sudden, unrelenting, impossible-to-outrun storm. It crashes through everything familiar, leaving silence in its wake.
When I began painting this piece, I wasn’t just painting clouds or waves; I was painting the storm that grief brings. The chaos, the heaviness, and the strange beauty hidden in its movement.
Each brushstroke became an act of surrender, a way to face the hurricane head-on, to let the emotion move through instead of against me.
Because even in the fiercest storm, there’s a rhythm, a reminder that calm is waiting, just beyond the breaking point.
This painting reflects that journey of learning that healing doesn’t mean the storm disappears… it means we find a way to breathe inside it.
